Starting October 2024, Paris will implement new restrictions on coach access within the city center.
These measures are part of the city's initiatives to prioritize pedestrian movement through the ‘Paris piéton’ policy and to improve air quality under the ‘Paris respire’ program.

The restricted area includes the Right Bank, stretching 4 kilometers from Place de la Concorde to Canal Saint-Martin and spanning 1.5 kilometers from the Seine to the Grands Boulevards.
Coaches will generally be prohibited in this zone.
However, exceptions will be made for electric vehicles carrying up to 15 passengers, individuals with reduced mobility (PMR), school groups, and vehicles with pre-booked parking at the Louvre coach park within the area.
Groups with luggage will not be allowed coach access.

Increased private hire car traffic is anticipated as a consequence.
